As a wee Canadian lass growing up in the ’80s I was often bopping around to a young Celine Dion belting out her French hits on the radio & watching her performances + interviews on TV too:
She’s only 5 years older than I am and was a pretty awesome role model for gals like me who dreamed of international stardom.
Celine is not only an iconic talent and goddess of style but she also has a magnificent sense of humour and appears to live life to the fullest!

80’s Tuxedo Jacket (thrifted & refashioned) $18 – Tank Top (had for years) $0 – Floofy Skirt (inherited & refashioned) $0 – Sunglasses (had for years) $0 – Shoes (thrifted) $5 – Refashionista Attitude (had for years)
Total outfit cost: $23
I thrifted that 80’s tuxedo jacket for $18 online but when it arrived was not super thrilled with the massive shoulder pads, cheap looking buttons and tacky lace around the collar. Carefully removing the lace, chopping out the shoulder pads and replacing the buttons with a vintage pearlized set definitely improved it!
$4850 VS $23 + refashionista imagination & DIY
I’ll be sharing the tutorial for my fluffy, puffy skirt soon so stay tuned!
