There’s nothing better than a quick and easy project that involves absolutely zero sewing!
Luckily there’s more than a few fab fabrics that can be chopped up and worked with without resulting in those awful frayed edges!
Grab your scissors + my fave no sew fabrics and get making in a flash!
Felted Wool is easy to make and you may have already created some accidentally! All you need is a wool garment that you don’t mind shrinking. Launder in a hot water wash & then machine dry with high heat. If your desired felted texture isn’t achieved then go ahead & repeat the process.
T-shirt Jersey is a finely knit mixture of wool, cotton and synthetic fibres that does not fray when cut and has the added bonus of curling up at the edges when stretched.
Fleece is made from polyester that has been woven and brushed into a warm yet lightweight fabric. Fleece can also be created from recycled plastics making it an eco-friendly and inexpensive and cozy alternative to wool.
Polyester is another fabric that is now being created from recycled plastics. Depending on what it is blended with, polyester can usually be cut without needing to hem. Those groovy vintage garments in the thrift shop with 100% polyester labels are fab non-frayers but may not be very comfortable on hot days as non-blended polyester is not a very breathable fabric.
