Refashionista Rants: Ageism – LIVE Real Talk About Life Unraveled & Restitched

It’s time to refashion more than just our wardrobes, it’s time to refashion the way we talk about life.

Welcome to the very first episode of my new weekly series, Refashionista Rants LIVE Sundays at 4PM EST on my YouTube channel.

Each week, I’ll be chatting about the things we don’t usually talk about out loud. Real life. Real issues. The unravelled bits and how we stitch ourselves back together.

And for this first rant, we’re tackling a big one:

AGEISM: The Prejudice Everyone Faces, But Women Face Sooner

Ageism doesn’t begin when you retire. It starts long before 40 – in your workplace, your doctor’s office, and even in your mirror when the media tells you you’ve “aged out” of relevance.

From being told we’re too young for responsibility to suddenly too old for opportunity, the slope is steep and slippery.
And if you’re a woman, that slide starts earlier, hits harder, and affects everything from your career to your health care.

I’ll be sharing my own experiences with ageism:
– In work and media: where “youth” is treated as currency.
– In clinical trials: where women were excluded until the mid-1990s and still only make up a fraction of study participants.
– In life: where invisibility starts the moment we stop being “marketable” according to the patriarchal powers that be.

Because let’s be honest: we deserve better than anti-wrinkle ads and silence.

Chat with me in real time, share your own experiences, and help me build a conversation that refuses to fade quietly into the background.

If I can do it, YOU can too. Perfection is the enemy of good enough but why don’t we even receive the bare minimum?

After nearly 2 years, 3 doctors, and feeling completely dismissed, I finally found the support I needed for my perimenopause symptoms and started HRT:
