One of the best parts of being a refashionista is having the ability to create the items you’re coveting in exactly your style and size from items you already have lurking about the house.
I’ve been craving a cage bra for ages but couldn’t find any I liked that actually fit my chest and budget so I went ahead and made one for free with bits I had on hand!
Whip up your own unique chest harness with my super easy DIY Cage Bra Refashion Tutorial:
Grab a comfy bra + some funky elastic ribbon + a needle & coordinating thread.
Pop on the bra and create your harness pattern.
I stood in front of a mirror and used safety pins to secure the the elastic ribbon making sure to leave enough on each trimmed end to wrap and stitch around the bra straps.
When you’re happy with your harness remove the bra and securely handstitch the elastic ribbon to the bra straps.
Perfect under transparent blouses as well as tops with wide necklines!
I’m always amazed at just how simple it is to (re)create those coveted wardrobe items – all it takes is a bit of imagination and refashionista know-how!
Definitely feeling like refashionista rockstar in this quirky cage bra!
