Soft, fluffy, fresh smelling laundry can easily be achieved without resorting to those expensive chemically toxic fabric softener brands at the supermarket:
Skip those unhealthy, environmentally damaging laundry brands and create your own personalized products for pennies with my natural 3 ingredient DIY fabric softener – your clothes will thank you for it!
My laundry bio: I wash 3 – 4 loads per week in cold water on the eco-cycle and hang most of my laundry to dry.
All you need is white vinegar, water and your fave essential oil (only if a light scent is desired).
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bottle and add a few drops of essential oil.
All types of vinegar contain acetic acid that works to brighten, soften and kill odors in your laundry however white vinegar is much less acidic than cider vinegars and contains no tannins (natural plant dyes) that may stain clothes + it costs less and a little really does go a long way!
Shake well before adding to your washer’s softener dispenser. I use about 2 – 4 tbsp for small to medium loads and double that amount for a large load.
Obviously the most eco-friendly method of drying your washing is to simply hang it up outside on the line, which is fab in the warm, dry months but the convenience of a dryer during the cold, wet seasons of the year is awesome!
Thankfully there’s absolutely no reason to purchase expensive fabric softeners full of toxic ingredients as you can easily make your own Delightful DIY Dryer Sheets with items you may already have around the house!
