After the total success of my simply natural DIY deodorant I absolutely had to try creating an easier-to-apply stick version:

Grab the step-by-step for my Amazing DIY Deodorant Stick to Try Right Now + the honest pros (and cons) of making, using and storing homemade underarm freshener!

You’ll need: 1/3 cup arrowroot powder (or cornstarch), 2 tbsp baking soda, 3 tbsp beeswax, 2 tbsp shea butter, 1/3 cup coconut oil, a clean stick deo container and your fave essential oil (if a scent is desired).

Grab a pot + a heat safe bowl that fits into the pot. Boil a couple of cups of water in the pot, turn down the heat and pop the bowl into the pot to create a simple but effective double boiler.

Add the coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter to the bowl and gently stir until completely melted.

Add a few drops of essential oil. (lemongrass is my fave!)

Remove from heat and stir in the arrowroot powder and baking soda.

Carefully pour the mixture into the deo container.

Allow to set in a cool spot.

I love the fresh, clean smell of lemongrass!

I love this DIY deo! It’s super long lasting, doesn’t stain clothing and is gentle and moisturizing on my sensitive underarm skin – the only problem is trying to find a cool enough spot to store it so it stays firm during the warm months of the year as keeping it in the fridge hardens a bit too much to use.
