I’m all for getting cozy in a proper turtleneck sweater but wtf is with mock turtlenecks?
They’re not long enough to fold over and not snug enough to stay in place so what is the point of these floppy, annoying necklines?
Read on and discover how to easily refashion a mock turtleneck with my quick tutorial (including a super simple no sew option too!):
Flip that uncomfortable mock turtleneck top inside out.
(the mock neck of this sparkly vintage lurex beauty was already coming apart & wanting a refashion)
Carefully remove the stitches of the folded over layer of neckline fabric.
Chop off most of the mock neck leaving 2 – 3 cms behind for seam allowance.
(a completely no sew option is to simply chop off the turtleneck as close to the finished neckline seam as possible, flip it right side out and wear!)
Fold over the raw edge and sew in place with a zigzag stitch.
Fold over again and stitch to complete your lovely new neckline!
