How To Make Upcycled Ring Pop Bling

My munchkin is becoming quite the mini DIY diva and, unbeknownst to me, had even started her very own crafty stash!

We try to create at least one “big” project together every weekend and this time instead of raiding my studio shelves she excitedly produced her own collection of upcycling ingredients – making me a super proud refashionista mama! Amongst the tiny bits of ribbon, fabric scraps & shiny bits n’ bobs we found a couple of ring pop rings and decided to upcycle them into groovy wearables:

Once those lollipop rings are eaten hold onto that plastic ring bit and discover How To Make Upcycled Ring Pop Bling below!

*(nearly) all of the materials used in this tute are from the kiddo’s own crafty stash*

For the first ring she selected a faux flower she’d found outside, a piece of twine and bit of gold ribbon.

(I grabbed my trusty glue gun and followed her instructions)

The ring pop stem was a bit too long so it got a quick trim.

The flower was positioned on the remaining piece of the ring pop stem and glued on.

The twine and ribbon were then wrapped and stuck around the base of the flower.

The flower petals were bent back and attached to the twine and ribbon and a bead added to the centre to make it “look more realer”.

et voila! A pretty new ring created from trash and found items!

For the second ring she chose a couple of tassels and requested that I make everything into a Troll.

I glued the first tassel to the ring stem upside down.

And then glued the other tassel upside down to the opposite side.

I grabbed a few pompoms from my stash and stuck them around the base to finish off the ring.

Yay! A Troll-esque ring to add to her accessory collection!
