a punky perked-up skirt refashion + how to remove rivets

What do you suppose that rockin’ skirt was (easily) created from?

A pair of tacky old jeans.

Dyed a lovely lila & combined with my Chuffed with my cuff skirt tutorial.

+ a few pieces from a torn Ikea Fangst!

I chopped out a couple of squares & pinned ’em  to the front of the fancy new skirt.

Then sliced out the excess fabric covering the pockets & zip.

Securely zigzagged them on.

Removed the denim button  rivets (*simply grasp the front & back of the rivet with pliers & give ’em a good twist n’ pull)

et voila! Rivets neatly removed leaving only a tiny hole in the denim!

Next, I busted out some cute vintage buttons & stitched ’em on.

And added a couple Fangst scraps to the pockets

Coolness!
