Welcome to my My DIY Upcycled Vintage Living Room:
Didja notice my upcycled German army blanket rug? I have no idea how soldiers slept under that heavy, itchy wool but it most definitely makes a fabulous foot-warming, dog lounging throw rug!

I love how you hung the “flickenteppich” on a slider between rooms! Genius. Your living room is so you! Love it!
Thanks M.e – my living room is a most comfortable place to be!
Oh Sheri, it felt like I was over for a visit and you were giving me a tour of your funky new living room! I love it all, its so you-beautiful! Looking forward to the next tour, and I’m now on the hunt for a fab rug to use as a slidy door cover, genius!!
Cheers Darlene 😀 The rag rugs were an amazing flea market find for only €3 each and, although huge, washed up easily in the industrial machine at the laundrymat.
Your home is so lovely and full of personality. I love your lateral thinking when re-purposing things. It’s nice to see your individual creations in context!
I must be one of the few people left who still uses a desktop computer at home, so I don’t have any issue with either format. For this type of content I enjoyed the video, but for tutorial-style things I do like a written method with pictures, so I can read at my own pace. Having said that, I can pause and rewind as much as I like, so yeah, either is good! Love them all!
Thanks Alice. House tour videos are actually A LOT easier to create than the photo blog post versions, which was surprising as my tutorial vids take ages to shoot & edit but with the room tour I could simply be followed with the camera as I chatted about the decor, much like I would if I was showing my home to someone in real life. Photo blog posts tours require waiting for the perfect natural light to stream through the windows, taking a load of photos at a load of different angles, as well as multiple shots of the individual decor DIYs, selecting the best photos, editing those photos and eventually writing & putting it all together in a blog post. Video tour = 1 day of work VS photo post tour = 3 days of work? I’m thinking the video tour wins for time management + it’s waaaay more fun to create! 😉
I love both formats! I know, I am no help! What a beautiful, happy home you have Sheri! I have enjoyed all the home tours!
Thanks Robin – my house is definitely a reflection of my personality! 😉
That was fun! Love the fabric you used on the dining chairs and the flickenteppisch door curtain 🙂
Cheers! The dining table is also a giant chalkboard 😀 https://awesomesauceasshattery.com/2012/04/20/oh-so-sad-to-stylishly-swingin/
