Hands up if your school days were the best time of your life:

yeah…me neither!

Thinking back to those oh-so-long-ago days of taunts & torments makes me breathe a massive sigh of relief that September has not meant heading back to school for a very long time…and I can assure anyone who is going through a difficult school time that it does get indescribably better once you leave the petri dish of high school. That thick skin, inner strength & humour that developed as a necessary line of defense during those seemingly-never-ending days at school will serve you awesomely along the road of success for the rest of your life!

…and to the bullies: Karma is patient and will always find you in the end.

“S” sweatshirt (gift) €0 – Vintage Blouse (thrifted) €1 – Vintage Skirt (thrifted) €0.50 – Vintage Wristlet (flea market) €3 – Tights (had for years) €0 – Chunky Heeled Lace-ups (flea market) €2

Great back to school outfit!!! I loved school but I’m glad I don’t have to go back – I value my independence too much!
Adorable scholastic-chic back to school ensemble! Gotta love those picture day school photos! 😉
I’m sorry you were bullied, but I am glad that you can now stand proudly and share with others today that you are successful and happy despite those dumb kids back in your school days! 🙂
Yep, I wasn’t always the confident refashionista I am today…sadly, bullying is something that sticks with you throughout the years and although going through these emotional & physical harrassments will make one stronger they are also an incredibly unfair & completely unnecessary fact of life for far too many people. 🙁
Oh school picture day, those were always the worst!
I love everything about your school look – that plaid skirt is to die for, so cute, so fun. Looks fun with both the sweatshirt and the blouse! Great find!
Cheers Beth, I was in thrifty-shock when I pulled that glorious skirt out of the €0.50 box!
hahaha! This is fun 🙂 I like your school-look. Those nasty school picture “photographers”, unbelievable :/
But I like the checked-pattern of your skirt, it makes me feel autumn-comfy 🙂
Back in my long ago school days in Canada (years before digital cameras) I dreaded “school picture” day…you had one chance to take a nice photo (that your mother would then pre-order a bunch of to send off to everyone) and 2 – 3 weeks later would get to see the results when you picked up your alphabetically organized (+ always horrible & embarrassing) picture packet from a giant table at the front of the school…ew. 😉
