I Made Apple’s $230 Phone Pocket… For Zero Dollars

Settle in, because you are not going to believe what Apple has decided to sell now.

They’ve released a tiny, simple, no-frills phone pocket…for $230?!

A pocket. For two hundred and thirty dollars. No, your glasses aren’t dirty. That number is real.

And since consumerist nonsense is my Roman Empire, I did what any refashionista would do:

I made my own Apple Pocket dupe… for free. Actually, I made three and if I can do it, YOU can too!

Today’s video shows you exactly how I created three functional, stylish, upcycled phone bags from nothing but leftovers, scraps, and creativity. No trips to the store, no spending, no guilt.

Let’s dive in:

1. The Placemat Mini Bag: Cute, Chic, and Shockingly Strong

Two small placemats. A few simple seams. Done.

This dupe came out so polished that it genuinely looks like something you’d find at a trendy vintage boutique, the kind that would happily charge you $85 for it.

2. The Shoulder Pad Bag: 80s Magic Meets Modern Function

Yes, really. The second dupe was made from 1980s shoulder pads.

They’re structured, sturdy, and the perfect shape for a compact little pouch. Add a strap and suddenly you’ve got the most delightfully retro phone bag that screams personality.

$0. Zero sewing patterns. Zero pretentious design language from tech bros.

3. The Sweater Sleeve Bag: Cozy, Simple, Zero Dollars

My Apple Pocket dupe comes from something you already have sitting in your closet, waiting for a second life: a sweater sleeve.

I chopped one off, shaped it, stitched it and boom…a soft, slouchy, practical phone bag that costs exactly nothing and looks far cuter than anything Apple is pretending is “luxury.”

And again…this one is free.

Why This Matters (And Why I Made This Video)

We are living in a moment where even thrift stores have become unaffordable and giant corporations are selling the most basic items at luxury markups.

We’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and told constantly that we have to spend money to have nice things.

Refashionista Sheri says: Absolutely not.

Perfection is the enemy of good enough, and you deserve to feel creative, capable, and stylish without spending a dime.

You don’t need to buy your way into “aesthetic.” You don’t need overpriced brand garbage. You don’t need tech companies selling you a pocket for the price of your utility bill.

You just need a little inspiration…and a willingness to chop up and stitch what’s already in your home.
