Upcycled Ruffled Blouse Refashion

Did you love my latest Drew Barrymore designer outfit copycat look?

It’s a snap to create your own preloved version of that awesome $1800 blouse for pennies:

Transform a plain button down with my Upcycled Ruffled Blouse Refashion:

You’ll need a button down shirt + a long coordinating scarf.

Chop the scarf in half lengthwise.

Gather up each length of scarf fabric into a ruffle, pin them to the shoulders of the shirt and stitch them on.

Grab my easy fabric gathering method in my Sewing Basics e-book here.

I wasn’t thrilled with the result of simply sewing on the ruffles so I went ahead and covered the stitches with some fab vintage trim.

Much better with the trim added, eh?

Once the blouse was done I popped it on and added an instant no sew pussy bow scarf to the neckline!
