DIY Hand Cream – A Soothing Salve for Dry Skin

The plunging temperatures and bitter winds of winter are wreaking havoc on my sensitive skin leaving it thirsting for hydration and protection. Unfortunately the products found in-store are either chock full of chemicals or organic yet far too expensive, fortunately it’s a snap to whip up your own natural DIY Hand Cream – A Soothing Salve for Dry Skin:

Grab the simple recipe below and relieve those dry, chapped hands this season!

You’ll need: 2 tablespoons beeswax, 1/4 cup shea butter, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 2 tablespoons olive oil, container(s) & a few drops of your fave essential oil.

Grab a pot + a heat safe bowl that fits into the pot. Boil a couple of cups of water in the pot, turn down the heat and pop the bowl into the pot to create a simple but effective double boiler.

Pop everything into the bowl and melt together.

(for a quicker make simply put everything into a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 – 2 minutes or until all of the ingredients have melted together)

Carefully pour the mixture into a container.

Add a few drops of essential oil if desired.

Set in a cool place and allow to set completely.

Scoop out a small amount – a little goes a long way!

Rub into your hands.

Enjoy your soft, smooth and soothed skin!
