The Fair Wear Foundation is just one of the independent, non-profit organisations that works with companies and factories to improve labour conditions for garment workers.
Unfortunately there’s no such thing as 100% ethically produced clothing but the Fair Wear Foundation is working hard to educate, inform and help improve the rights and lives of the people creating those fast fashion bargains. Sadly many wealthy brands have chosen not to provide a living wage to the garment workers creating their products so children are forced to leave school to help support their families.
Follow the story of Esra, a 13 year old garment worker in Turkey, and start asking brands just why are children making your clothes?
Disclaimer: I am not at all an expert on the big business of fast fashion however I am a concerned consumer who has chosen to learn & share as much as I can through my own personal experiences & the wealth of resources available online.
