Upcycled Easter Hat Wreath

Transform that colourful bit you found in the trash (or thrift shop) into treasure with a few bits from your stash and my quirky Upcycled Easter Hat Wreath tutorial:

Grab the simple step by step below:

Snag a colourful hat (I found mine on the curb on trash day), three spring-hued bathpuffs, a few adorable easter-themed toys + your trusty glue gun.

Quick tip: Before upcycling bathpuffs make sure they are bacteria and germ free by giving them a soak in an equal parts water and white vinegar mixture.

As my hat was more than a bit squished I went ahead and lined it with some cardboard to bring back its shape and make it sturdy enough to hang.

Then I deconstructed my bathpuffs and chopped them in half lengthwise.

I braided 3 pieces of bathpuff…

and glued it around the base of the crown part of the hat.

Then gathered the remaining 3 pieces into a colourful ruffled flower shape…

and stuck it to the front to cover the ends of the braid.

A sweet bunny, carrot and a few lilac-coloured feathers glued on to adorn the front of the hat…

and 3 cute chicks stand on top!

A delightful bit of easter decor created from trash!

I’ve been an Athiest since I was a kiddo so easter in our house is all about bunnies, baskets and egg hunts. Although there were attempts made to raise me as a christian, as a wee lassie I chose to put my confidence in reason, logic and scientifically provable facts. As an adult I’ve lived and worked throughout N. America, Europe and Asia which has given me the unique perspective of experiencing and adapting to a variety of cultures, speaking new languages and learning about just a few of of the thousands of the incredibly diverse gods, goddesses and religions followed throughout the world. With so many different faiths on the planet everyone is an athiest to some extent, I simply believe in no god(s) at all instead of one or several.
