Sooooo, apparently the sparkling snowy Decembers I remember from that ancient time before I left for my 2+ decade long adventures living throughout the world have pretty much disappeared, harumph!
Trudging through freezing wind and icy rain just doesn’t create the same kind of joy as my memories of frolicking in a gentle snowfall does + it also makes creating a post themed a winter wonderland #thriftythursday a wee bit difficult.
In lieu of powdery snow I found some funky winter-esque graffiti art to showcase my cozy thrifted and refashioned outfit. Grab all of the deets and tutes below + join my gone thrifting group and share your own winter wonderland looks!
I took my warm and wooly style to Black Market Vintage, one of my fave thrifty haunts in Toronto that I frequented before I left on my globe-trotting journey over 20 years ago! I snagged some fantastic nifty thrifty giftys + some magnificent vintage gear for myself that I shall be featuring soon!
Vintage Hat (thrifted) $2 – Scarf (thrifted) $1 – My Irish Clan Aran Sweater (thrifted & mended) $1 – Vintage Gloves (inherited) $0 – Vintage Skirt (thrifted online) $3 – Tights & Boots (had for years) $0
Total outfit cost: $7
A morning of thrifting deserves a fab gluten-free treat in the form of sweet potato fries & garlic sauce at Moo Frites in Kensington Market. (not a sponsored mention, just really freaking delicious food & lovely staff worth recommending.)
A bit more faux winter wonderland fun? My kiddo is absolutely (and hilariously) fascinated with the Fireplace for Your Home on Netflix.
