Do you refashion refashions?
Check out how I extended the life of one of my kiddo’s fave upcycled dresses again with my very easy dress upsizing tutorial:
I upsized my kiddo’s fave dress into a delightful dino frock in 2017, unfortunately she quickly outgrew it, fortunately I was able to increase the size yet again and create an awesome eco-dress for 2019!
I grabbed the dino dress + a slightly damaged but oh-so-fab preloved t-shirt.
Chopped off the dinosaur bodice and waist ties.
Stitched the lining and skirt together at the raw edge.
Cut the t-shirt to her perfect bodice length.
Popped the shirt into the skirt with right sides facing and raw edges lined up.
Stitched them together with a zigzag.
Flipped the dress right side out and discovered a couple of remaining damaged bits that needed to be covered.
Pinned a the fabric belt I had leftover from this old but goodie refashion in place on the waist seam of the dress and stitched it on.
I still had the bow from the original dress in my stash so I arranged it over the damaged area and hand stitched it on.
Et voila! My kiddo’s upsized eco-dress was complete and ready to wear to the Climate Strike march!
