Working Online: Time vs Money

I’ve been sharing my creativity, tutorials & love of sustainable style online for awhile now and have definitely learned loads about the ins & outs of creating content for an online audience.

As I often receive requests for advice from those new to working online as well as fellow creators who enjoy what I’m doing and how I present it, I thought it would be helpful to share the important lessons I’ve learned thus far and let you have look behind the scenes of what actually goes into my Confessions of a Refashionista.

Have a listen as I tackle one of the most frequently asked about topics: Time vs Money

  1. Thank you for this touching the heart episode, Sheri!

It is important for readers hear what you talk about here – for sake of those women who work long hours to support others in their shared passion… without much of a repay in dollar signs. You are right. Only when you are behind the scenes doing it you know how much it really takes and costs. It was surprising to learn how little goes back to you money-wise in return to your incredible work (not that my situation is different).

As you, however, I am positive. Because I do believe our work is worth more than a single person can see. As well as more than we get back as in terms of pay and money. Time will prove it. Keep up with your wonderful work, stamina and creativity!

    1. It’s truly disheartening to know that what we do is not seen as a “real” job by the general public. “Small” creators are never compensated fairly (or at all) for the incredible amount of work, time, talent & know-how that goes into producing our free content. I simply can’t understand how people can so easily financially support massive, multi-billion dollar, international brands but never give a thought to simply “liking & sharing” the content they claim to love from tiny online creators.

I do hope that our work will, one day, (sooner than later), reach those that actually care enough to help us make difference in our chosen niche ♻❤✂
