Another Pride month has come to a close but that doesn’t mean you need to put away your colourful clothes. Continue creating those bright garments and share your pride year round with my simple scrap-busting rainbows:
Find out how easy it is to whip up a colourful patch with my Scrappy Rainbow Hoodie Refashion:
Just like my scrappy rainbow jacket tutorial you’ll need to grab a bunch of fabric scraps that are similar colours to the rainbow pride flag & cut them into equal-ish rectangles then arrange the pieces in the colour order of the flag.
Sew all of the pieces together.
Fold the scrappy rainbow in half, snag a piece of chalk and place the folded patchwork fabric on top of the shirt you’re embellishing.
Starting at the folded edge of the fabric, sketch out half of a heart in the size you desire.
Chop it out of the scrappy rainbow.
Open up the fabric and snip off any uneven areas.
Pin the heart to the shirt.
Stitch it on.
I finished the edges of my rainbow heart with a length of vintage trim.
Pair your rainbow hoodie with some pride undies and share the love!
Complete the sporty look with a pair of comfy lounge pants + preloved retro sunnies!
