My quirky pineapple top from last year is so awesome that I knew I needed to create another version – I just had to find the perfect plain shirt to update, luckily thrifting karma brought me a funky yet boring bell-sleeved sweater for next to nothing!
Check out how simple it is to fancy up a plain shirt with my Easy Rainbow Patches Sweater Refashion:
Grab a plain sweater, 2 matching patches + your trusty iron & hand sewing gear (if desired).
Pop on the top and arrange your patches (carefully pin/stick in place).
Take off the top and make sure the distance from the side seams…
and shoulder seams is equal for both patches.
Pop a cotton cloth over the patches and iron to secure them in place.
You could be done after ironing but I always like to sew them on with a simple running stitch for extra security.
(a running stitch is crazy easy and usually the first basic stitch anyone learns)
How fab is that? + it’s perfect with my patched & dyed Pride jeans too!
