The season of sniffles has definitely arrived bringing with it a crazy amount of tissue waste. As my kiddo seemed to be on a mission to empty every box as quickly as possible I knew I had to come up with a more eco-friendly, sustainable solution:
Raid your scrappy stash, create a bunch of No Sew DIY Reusable Tissues and make this cold season eco-friendly!
Grab some non-fraying fabric from your stash (flannel or jersey are fab) + your trusty pinking shears and a tissue to use as a template.
Regular scissors are fine as well but the zigzag teeth of pinking shears help prevent the fabric edges from fraying during usage and in the wash.
Fold your fabric as many times as you can until it reaches the basic size of the tissue.
Place the tissue on top of the fabric and chop off the excess.
Enjoy your groovy reusable tissues!
They’re easily stored in mini make-up bags or even coin purses for on the go!
The flannel is super soft on stuffy noses and can even be lightly scented with a sniffle-busting essential oil such as eucalyptus, tea tree or lemongrass.
Once used simply pop the tissues into a mesh wash bag and launder with your next load.
