A few weeks ago I stumbled upon this rather marvelous vintage velour sweatsuit at the charity shop:
After a quick ponder and damage check that gorgeous bit of faux velvet history was mine for a mere €5 (including the groovy handknit scarf & glittery poinsettia decoration it was displayed with), yay!
Sweatsuits are crazy comfy for lounging around the house but did you know that they can also be styled up and worn out and about as well?
Have a look at my 4 ways to wear a vintage sweatsuit and step out in comfy cozy style:
Pop the sweatshirt over a blouse and pair it with a coordinating skirt and tights for a cozy layered look.
Class up the sweatshirt by wearing it under a blazer, ’tis surprisingly comfortable and adds interest and texture to an otherwise traditional ensemble.
Coordinating a funky vintage blouse and heels with the sweatpants creates a pretty darn fancy look!
Step out in style with sweatpants, boots, a fab (faux) leather jacket and eye-catching scarf!
Which is your fave look?

Sweatsuits are not my favourite outfits because I always feel like they make me look bigger than I am but you manage to make everything look good! Love the first look.
Wow! Thanks for the fab compliment Vee! I’m not a huge fan of thick fleece/jersey sweatsuits either (unless I’m skulking around the house) 😉 This groovy vintage velour is a slim fitting boy’s size medium and as the fabric is quite thin it doesn’t add any extra bulk anywhere
