Whoohoo! Another vintage hankie stashbusting project is complete and it is marvelous darlings!
A fabulous floaty maxiskirt that can also be worn as a bandeau dress!
Here’s how I made it:
I grabbed 18(!) handkerchiefs from my stash + the chopped top from a pair of old yoga pants.
I stitched all of the hankies together (2 rows of 8 and then a row of 6 centered on the bottom to create an asymmetrical hem) and then used a fancy embroidery stitch over all of the outside seams.
Stitched the patchwork hankie fabric into a tube.
Popped the top of the yoga pants over the skirt tube with right sides facing.
Stitched them together with a tight zigzag.
Zigzagged over the outside seam for extra strength.
et voila! A skirt (or dress) that looks smashing with my crocheted embellished boots!
