Remember my Kangaroo Cover-up refashion from last year?
Well, the munchkin decided that hoodies were no longer cool & insisted a change was in order…
Here’s how to transform your own boring old hoodies into stylin’ sweatshirts:
Snag a hoodie & cover-up the silly print with a groovy vintage table mat
Fold the hoodie in half & chop off the hood a few centimeters above the neckline angling up from front to back
et voila! You now have a fancy new collar that can be worn up or down
As sweatshirt jersey doesn’t fray, it’s not necessary to hem the raw edges but I wanted a more finished look so I snagged some cotton ribbon from my stash…
and bound the raw collar edge
and the kiddo’s stylish new sweatshirt was done!
Create a cowl neck version by simply cutting off the hoodie completely & stitching on the chopped turtleneck from an old sweater!

Thanks Katherine! …and now she’ll actually wear them! 😉
