cocktail dress – [kok-teyl dres] – NOUN – A smart dress suitable for formal occasions.
Admiring my vast collection of vintage cocktail attire is one of my favourite guilty pleasures in life. I have a delightful dress for nearly any event that might crop up…but until the glamorous invites start pouring in I’m satisfied to simply play dress-up, enjoy the feel of the funky fabrics & marvel at the workmanship of these fabulous frocks from the past.
Here’s five of my faves:

Vintage Dresses (inherited or thrifted & refashioned) €4 – Tights (1982) €5 – Clutches (all inherited) €0 – Shoes & Boots (thrifted or ebayed years ago) €12
Total cost for ALL outfits: €21

I love em all but my favorite one is the red one on the right. I feel like if you go to a party or even wearing that, you’ll be pretty much unforgettable and gorgeous!!!!
Thanks Nout! The photo doesn’t really do the dress justice…it’s actually orange & incredibly glittery 😉 & of course one of my absolute faves!

I can’t even decide which one is my favorite! I love them all!

Thanks Zhenya…the rest of my vintage dress collection is pretty impressive too! 😉
Okay, Love the red carpet theme here. My fav. has to be the last one, that is red and black!! We shall see you next week for boho chic or hippie
Cheers Jackline…your cocktail look would fit right in on my red carpet 😉
We love your picture!
And great dresses
😀
I seriously always love your posts – they manage to amaze, look stylish, and make me laugh all at the same time. That is talent my friend! 🙂 I love how you have all your pics on the red carpet and they are all beautiful outfits. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be the nude dress. They are all lovely tho!
…and your comments always make my entire week! Thanks so much my lurvly! 😀
These dresses are FABULOUS!! I think I love the black one shoulder number best, although the nude dress with the updo is a close second! Love the styling of each of these looks – great post!!! 🙂
Why thank you very much, I’m pretty chuffed with my ever growing dress collection! I inherited (a.k.a. rescued/stole) the black dress from the back of my mother’s closet years ago, it had been made for her in the 1970’s & has travelled with me to every country I’ve lived in, I LOVE it! *I plan on passing it down to my lil girlie one day 😉
The nude dress with the amazing bead details was yet another score from Great Aunt Uschi’s treasure chest: http://awesomesauceasshattery.com/2013/01/19/tante-uschis-schatzkiste/
Well aren’t you just so stylish?! You have a knack for gorgeous dress-wearing and clutch-matching, my friend 🙂
I’ve had years to perfect it all, daaarling 😉
