I was a wee bit of a bodysuit addict in the 90’s so I’m pretty darn happy that those fabulous tops-that-never-come-untucked are making a comeback and I’m even happier that I now have the skills to easily create my own from items I already have in my wardrobe!
Here’s how to quickly transform your fave blouses into marvelous bodysuits that never come untucked:
Snag a button-up blouse that sits at your hips & a pair of comfy undies.
Stitch the open ends of the blouse closed.
Pop your undies over the bottom of the blouse with right sides facing & the undie waistband lined up with the blouse hem. Pin the side seams together.
Stich together with a tight zigzag, stretching the undie waistband to match the length of the blouse hem as you sew. (if your blouse hem is longer than your undie waistband simply gather the fabric so it matches up)
Zigzag over the outside seam for extra strength
and your fancy new blouse bodysuit is complete!
If you don’t want to have to unbutton & slip it off completely to use the loo just snip the undie crotch in half & stitch on a couple of snaps!
Hooray! No more unsightly untucked blouse areas, even when I oh-so-gracefully bend over!
