Waldmeister Keks…?
December 19, 2011
The-final-countdown-to-Weihnachten is in full swing in our house…that means my once-yellow-pajama’ed hubby is eating cookies faster than I can make ‘em! Here’s another favourite of his:
…made with a secret German ingredient: Waldmeister Goetterspeise…
You’ll need: 3/4 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/3 cup butter, 2 tbsp warm water, cookie cutters & 1 package Waldmeister Goetterspeise (sweet woodruff flavoured jello) – Waldmeister is a wild growing herb that, when made into syrup, is used as a flavouring for everything from beer to cookies…it’s also a pretty funky green colour…
…put your cut-outs on a greased (or baking-papered) cookie sheet…
…bake your cookies at 180C/325F/Gasmark 3 for 8 – 10 minutes…
While your cookies are baking melt some white (or dark) chocolate in a bowl, mix in 1/2 tsp of cinnamon for a Christmas-y-er taste…
