Every trash day in Toronto offers a treasure trove of roadside finds just begging to be discovered and given a groovy new life:
I was thrilled to spot that damaged bit of history on garbage day and knew just what to transform it into! Check out the steps behind my Upcycled Vintage Radio Entertainment Center below:
I’m always shocked at what people throw away here!
The whole radio unit was sanded and two new shelves were cut to size from some old wood I had saved.
Next, the center panel was oh-so-carefully cut out then reattached with hinges to create a door.
I gave the whole unit a few coats of lovely lavender paint.
Once dry, I covered the upcycled shelves in some fab vintage fabric and put it all together.
I popped a few of my vintage porcelain knobs into the spaces that held the radio dials and added my electronics. All of the cords are nicely tucked away and hidden in the bottom of the unit, yay!
I now have a gorgeous entertainment unit that looks fab with my upcycled vintage end tables that moved over with me from Berlin!
