The pet rock guest gifts I created for the kiddo’s previous bday party were such a hit I just had to come up with something just as awesome for her first birthday celebration in Canada:
How fab are those kid-friendly, giggle-causing Easy DIY Yarn Doll Weatherman Party Favors? Grab the scrapbusting tute + upcycled wrapping & my adorable free printable weatherman use instructions to include with the doll:
Snag that yarn that’s been lurking in your stash for far too long and gather a handful of it into 20 – 30cm long loops. (the longer the loops, the larger your weatherman will be)
Once you’ve gathered a thin handful go ahead and chop it off the yarn ball and gently pull to even up the loop ends.
Fold the gathered loops in half.
Tie off the top portion – this will be the head of your weatherman.
Chop open the bottom loops and separate in 3 portions.
Tie of the side portions and trim off the uneven ends – et voila, you’ve created arms!
Tie off the middle portion to create the body of your weatherman.
Separate the remaining yarn into 2 portions and tie them off to create the legs (exactly the same a the arms).
Pop on a couple of eyes and add a loop through the head for hanging.
Go create a bunch more for your guests and print out my handy instructions below!
simply click the instructions to enlarge & either print immediately by clicking file then print on your browser toolbar or right-click the enlarged image to save it to your computer – easy!
Have your munchkin decorate some toilet paper rolls, fold in one end, pop the weatherman and instructions inside and then fold in the open end – et voila! A fun little gift box that cost nothing to create!
Pop the groovy party favors into a basket and present them to your guests as they leave!
Hang your own weatherman outside of your window so you’ll always know which jacket to wear (or not).
