Personalized gifts are awesome, handmade gifts are extra special and simple DIYs are fabulous so let’s combine all three and create my DIY last minute personalized gift:
Any idea what personalized prezzie is wrapped up in that upcycled package?
Get the scoop below and then raid your cupboards to whip up a few one of a kind gifts from bits you already have lurking around the house:
Snag a plain cotton t-shirt (or totebag, socks, button-up shirt, etc), a piece of cardboard wrapped in plastic, chalk, your easy upcycled bleach pen and a clean container (that one once housed instant hot chocolate).
On a side note: I’m still using that exact same upcycled DIY bleach pen from my 2013 tutorial. It’s so far lasted 3 years and survived an international relocation!
Pop the cardboard in between the front and back of the fabric to prevent bleach leakage and then lightly sketch out the personalized design with the chalk.
Carefully trace over the chalk design with your DIY bleach pen and allow to sit until your desired colour change is achieved.
Launder as usual and your personalized gift is complete!
Grab that cleaned out container and whatever festive bits of paper, plastic or fabric you have on hand.
Then go ahead and wrap up your DIY last minute personalized gift!
Not into sketching a design? Go ahead a spray your way to a one of a kind gift with my quick video tute:

Don’t have time to bleach and wash?
A permanent marker works just as well to create personalized gear and takes even less time as you don’t have wash the item before gifting it:
Simply follow the same steps but replace your bleach pen with a permanent marker then place a scrap of fabric over the design and set it with an iron.
