The latest report by Greenpeace East Asia revealed the presence of hazardous chemicals in clothing items bought from 12 global labels, from fast fashion giants to famous sportswear and even brands specifically created for kids.
Have a read of the oh-so-clever (un)fairytale put together by Greenpeace before you stock up on that stylish new summer gear and shop informed this, and every, season:
These Little Monsters can be found lurking in our kid’s clothes, escaping from factories, travelling through our waterways and causing mischief all over the world.
Disclaimer: I am not at all an expert on the big business of fast fashion however I am a concerned consumer who has chosen to learn & share as much as I can through my own personal experiences & the wealth of resources available online.
Ugh. That is clever… and oh-so-depressing. (though, not much of a surprise.) Thanks for sharing. 🙂 Lisa
Thanks, that’s really useful. A lot of info in the booklet – I think I need to read it again when I have more time to concentrate. A few of my ‘projects’ have gone wrong recently, but this helps me to stick with it – it is worth it!
Yup, just one of the many great reasons to stick with thrifty second hand sustainable style!
This is awesome! <3
…and yet another magnificent reason to stick to thrifting and DIY! 😉
