These are the people making your clothes

Unfortunately there are still far too many consumers who choose to turn a blind eye to the horrific conditions garment workers face every day creating the cheap, throwaway fast fashion that fills their closets.
An undercover investigation by ITV’s ‘Exposure’ in the UK reveals hidden camera footage claiming to show dangerously unsafe and inhumane conditions in Dhaka garment factories. Many international fast fashion brands are produced in this Bangladeshi capital and although there have been significant attempts to clean the industry up, the footage gathered by 2 Bangladeshi investigators who risked their own safety, shows that dangers are often ignored and workers, including children, are treated with an appalling lack of respect.
These are the people making your clothes:

Western brands import garments from Bangladesh for one very clear reason – the wages are among the lowest in the world. In a developing country the garment trade provides vital employment for millions of workers. Low wages are bad enough and should not be accompanied by violence and danger.
