Easy Vintage Tunic to Top Refashion

One of the absolute best things about shopping preloved and refashioning is the ability to create something I look and feel great wearing. I know exactly what I’m comfortable in and what styles I love so it’s fab to discover a vintage treasure at the thrift shop that can quickly and easily be transformed into my perfect garment.

Such was the case with this fab boho 70’s tunic:

The pattern is awesome, the sleeves are fantastic but the length is not at all my style. Grab my Easy Vintage Tunic to Top Refashion and (re)create a perfect boho top in minutes:

I am not a fan of tunics. Too long to be a top, too short to be a dress and they make my body look even shorter than it is, harumph!

First I chopped off the bottom of tunic to my desired length + a couple centimeters for seam allowance.

Then gave my lovely top a nice clean hem.

While it was inside out I noticed that most of the interior seams had been torn and badly mended at some point so I stitched them all up properly.

Sometimes all it takes is a wee bit of imagination and quick snip and stitch to transform a frumpy thrift discovery into a wardrobe favourite!
