The fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world and it causes negative impacts on people and the earth’s delicate ecosystems along the global supply chain. Both creators and consumers have a responsibility to change this current system and make a positive impact on our world.
My ambition to inform and influence others to step away from unethically (& immorally) produced products is the driving force that motivates me to continue providing fabulous free eco- fashion/accessory/decor tutorials, ethical outfit inspiration and helpful thrifting tips on my Confessions of a Refashionista and Refashion Nation sites as well as contributing and sharing my creative skills throughout the online maker world.
Rescued Denim is my latest venture to promote the upcycled sustainable lifestyle and provide those wanting a fabulous, affordable, unique wardrobe an eco-friendly alternative to fast fashion.
Read on to discover more about my newest sustainable fashion endeavour and find out how easily you can make my Rescued Denim a reality:
How alarming are those stats?!
All of the materials used to create Rescued Denim are sourced from local charity shops, thrift stores, second hand outlets and swaps with those in the sustainable style community. I rescue, rework and refashion preloved denim and upcycled materials into completely sustainable, unique clothing and accessories to help you create a stylish, eco-friendly, ethical wardrobe you’ll feel great in!
As a completely transparent sustainable small business I firmly believe that my Rescued Denim will achieve a positive bottom line that helps both consumers and the Earth by minimizing any negative impact to people and our planet through its reasonably priced upcycled products, fair operations and ethical production methods.
What is sustainability? The concept that goods and services should be produced in ways that do not damage the environment without using resources that cannot be replaced.
What Is Upcycling? The process of converting old or discarded materials into something useful and often beautiful.
What is Refashioning? Transforming and reworking secondhand and preloved garments into fantastic new fashions.
What is a Refashionista? A kick ass DIY eco-fashion upcycling warrior who firmly believes that fabulous, affordable, unique style can be achieved by anyone without supporting the growing phenomenon of unsustainable, unethically produced, untransparent “fast fashion”.
