A Cool it Down #ThriftyThursday

Fall has finally arrived bringing with it a bone chilling breeze that somehow manages to sneak through every piece of clothing I layer on in an effort to stay warm.

I’m thinking the brisk wind will gradually transform into an absolutely arctic blast so I’m thrilled that I managed to bring over nearly all of my toasty warm thrifted winter gear from Berlin!

A Cool it Down #ThriftyThursday

For now my trusty old thrifted leather jacket + lots of layers are helping to keep the brisk wind (mostly) at bay. Get the scoop behind my outfit for A Cool it Down #ThriftyThursday, vote for upcoming themes and help me decide how to refashion that flowery velvet sweatshirt below:

Vintage Leather Jacket (had for years) $0.00 –  Vintage Velvet Sweatshirt (thrifted) $2 – Vintage Blouse (thrifted) $1 – Destroyed Jeans (refashioned) $0 – Biker Boots (had for years) $0

Total outfit cost: $3

I’m not thrilled with the fit of that velvet sweatshirt style top and am considering refashioning it into a funky bubble skirt or light bomber jacket – what do YOU think I should do with it?

Update: Here’s how transformed that ill-fitting top into an adorable bubble skirt:

  1. Definitely the bomber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you don’t see wearing it that wayoften then a skirt would be fabulous!

  2. That jumper would make a totally cute bomber jacket!

  3. My first thought for the sweatshirt was a bomber jacket-in fact I thought it was one until I looked closer. Or, change the neckline somehow.

    1. It definitely needs a change – the right sleeve constantly creeps up and the body of the sweatshirt is twisted a bit, just enough to make it annoyingly uncomfortable to wear 😉
