Don’t Return it, Refashion it!

Not every gift you receive is stellar and some can even leave you bemusedly scratching your head.

This year, instead of feeling embarrassed and timidly asking for the receipt to return it or packing it away to regift next year why not refashion those unwanted prezzies into something exactly your taste, style and size?

Dyed refashioned sweater

A too-plain-for-the-kiddo sweater is easily brightened up with a bath in cherry red dye and fancy new buttons! (my top tips for dyeing clothing are right here)

This gorgeous but ill-fitting vintage shift dress was an early thrifted xmas gift for myself.

An easy fix with a quick chop and hem to shorten the length + my no-sew trick for taking in the sides of a dress: simply gather the excess fabric together in the centre of the back & pin with a funky brooch!

DIY destroyed denim no sew refashion

If those jeans from Santa fit great but simply aren’t your style ’tis easy to transform them with items you already have in the house! (my top tips for bleach embellishing clothing are right here)

A too tight blouse needn’t be returned when you can add a bit of lace or funky fabric to loosen it up and make it completely unique!
