High waisted trousers and skirts have never really made much of an appearance in my wardrobe. I chalk it up to being a teen in the parachute-pant-loving 80’s and spending most of twenties in the low-riders-paired-with-crop-tops 90’s.
After a bit of a hunt through my stash I managed to refashion an outfit to suit this high waisted Thrifty Thursday theme:
Take a peek under my coat at the thrifty DIY ensemble I cobbled together:
Knit scarf (inherited) €0 – Cord Pea Coat (thrifted online) €3 – Longsleeved Crop Top (refashioned from my stash) €0 – High Waisted Vintage Skirt (refashioned from my stash) €0 – Tights (had for years) €0 – Chunky Heeled Boots (had for years) €0
Total cost: €3
And just how did I create my refashioned high waisted ensemble?
The long sleeved crop top was simply chopped and hemmed to my desired length and the vintage skirt became high waisted with 2 straight side seams thus shrinking the waistband and making it fit higher on my torso.
