My Gentle Rosacea Skin Care Routine

As I’ve already shared the scoop behind my rosacea laser treatment and my simple rosacea make-up routine I figured it was time to let you in on my crazy easy, super cheap and oh-so-gentle rosacea skin care regimen:

Raw coconut oil, sun screen, ultra sensitive face cream, cotton pads, H2O and a soft wash cloth are my tools to cleanse, protect and moisturize my face and keep my rosacea under control.

Here’s my quick and easy routine:

In the morning I simply wipe my face and neck with a warm, wet cloth then pat dry and apply my sunscreen for cancer-prone sensitive skin before throwing on my uncomplicated rosacea make-up:

I’d tried just about every expensive made-for-rosacea make-up removing skin care product on the market with absolutely zero success before stumbling upon my current, incredibly gentle and ridiculously economical cleansing routine:

Coconut oil is bloody fabulous and has completely saved my poor rosacea skin!

I purchase the raw oil in 250g blocks (much like butter) at my local supermarket for a mere €0.59 and put a bit in a small container in the bathroom for daily use while the rest lives in the fridge until needed. A single block lasts for months and, of course, can also be used for cooking and baking.

I scoop out a small amount of coconut oil and melt it in the palm of my hand

and then gently rub the melted oil over my face and eyes to loosen and remove the make up.

Since I began using coconut oil 6 months ago my skin no longer suffers from dry areas and I’ve also noticed that my eyelashes appear to be thicker, healthier and don’t fall out nearly as often + as oil attracts oil it also seems to have had the added bonus of completely obliterating those pesky side-of-the-nose blackheads.

I snag a cotton pad and wipe off the oil and make up.

(the front and back of one pad is more than enough to wipe off the amount of make up I wear)

After the oil and make up are removed I wipe my face with warm wet cloth

and apply my ultra sensitive vegan skin cream.

That sounds froufroushishi but is actually just the own-brand from my local drugstore and a steal of a deal for only €3.25.

Coconut oil!? You genius! I’m definitely implementing this. Any ideas on similar ultra sensitive creams I could find in the US?

    1. I’m not at all familiar with US skincare products but any face creams that are free from fragrances, preservatives, dyes and harsh chemicals would be similar – organic/all-natural products should be fine 🙂

  2. I think i should give this skinroutin a try .. Actually i have a reactive rosacea skin and since 8 months now struggling to find a single moisturiser or and face product that my skin can tolerate
Thanks for sharing your experince with us Xx
