My DIY Upcycled Vintage Bedroom in Berlin

Ahhh, the bedroom, a haven to cozy up in at the end of long day and read a good book before drifting off to dreamland:

Pffffft! Just check out that before picture! This tiny, oddly slanted room required quite a bit of work and creative furniture positioning before it became my comfy slumbering space.

That terrifyingly filthy, cat hair-filled carpet was replaced with light laminate flooring and the walls were painted a brilliant white – with only one tiny window those bright white walls really help to make up for a lack of natural light.

Just like my guest room & bathroomthe small single window looks directly across to the apartment building next door giving those nosy inquisitive neighbours an excellent view into my personal space so heavy blinds and curtains are a necessity, which unfortunately further blocks out the natural light.

My diy head and foot boards are still going strong as is my fixed and fab vintage nightstand!

You may have noticed throughout my house tour that I kinda have a thing for collage walls as memento displays – my little upcycled memory shelf fits perfectly as the centerpiece to this one.

And another mini collage wall above the headboard, of course.

Great Job… Your room looks so cozy to cuddle under the sheets after a long day. I love how you’ve arranged your room, so prim & proper and everything has found a perfect place to fit in so beautifully. Wish I could maintain my room like that. Since I do my sewing in my room itself, you’ll always find threads and scrap material hiding somewhere or the other. ???

    1. Due to the weird shape of room it took quite a bit of frustrating furniture shoving to get everything to fit & not all of the doors & drawers can actually open all of the way without hitting other furniture 😉 but I’m pleased with final result (the “panorama” photos make the room look A LOT bigger than it is in reality).

I’m more than a wee bit obsessive when it comes to having a place for everything, not only because it’s lovely to have a tidy home but also to know where stuff is when I need it 😀

  2. Great job and loving a peek-a-boo into your cosy space. But I have to ask what are you hiding under the bedcovers LOL

    1. Cheers Karen 🙂 there’s nothing under the bedcovers but the bed and my mountain of migraine pillows…
