The kiddo was desperate for a climbing frame so I headed up to the attic to see what my imagination could put together:
Here’s what I did:
I grabbed the old yet sturdy ladder that I discovered balanced under the roof beams when we moved in, some table legs, scrap wood and a piece leftover from my upcycled end tables.
Chopped the 3 meter long ladder exactly in half.
et voila! Two perfectly matched side pieces perfect for climbing!
Then I securely attached 3 of the those sturdy table legs across the top of the ladder pieces
and gave everything a few coats of wood sealing primer.
I easily created a strong trapeze from a smooth, splinter-free piece of scrap wood and sturdy hemp rope then secured it to the center table leg at the top of the frame and attached the deck. (that oh so strong piece of leftover vintage table)
Then all that was needed was couple of holes and a few buckets of cement to anchor the fancy climbing frame in place!
’tis pretty amazing what you can create from scraps and leftovers from the attic!
Great for climbing and perching…
swinging and swaying…
and just being silly!
