A Gorgeously Green #ThriftyThursday

I’ve always been partial to the colour green so I was surprised to discover so very few emerald-toned clothing items in my wardrobe. I do have quite a collection of thrifted & handmade accessories in varying shades of my Irish heritage so I thought I’d share one of my absolute fave vintage scarves along with a few groovy summer styling ideas for this gorgeously green Thrifty Thursday:

Take a closer peek at each look and get the outfit info below:

Simply wrapping & knotting the scarf around my waist gives a fab cummerbund (or cumberbund) look!

Tying the scarf as a necktie is much more interesting than simply wrapping it around my neck.

An arm-wrap always looks cool.

Elastics are never enough to hold my messy bun in place but binding it with a vintage scarf keeps my unruly locks under control.

  1. very cool – I’m curious about the dress is it cotton silk? did you use a pattern?

    1. I made it out of a cotton jersey bedsheet and, as with all of my creations, used no pattern but instead simply folded the sheet in half with right sides facing then placed a tank top & skirt on top of it for a template and traced out the basic shape I wanted, cut it out & stitched the two pieces together 😀
