The “before” didn’t have very many fans, fingers crossed that I managed to transform it for the better:
Here’s how I quickly created that stylin’ drop waist vest dress:
That crazy long 1980’s vest with no buttons & a weird faux pocket hankie had been sitting in my stash for ages before inspiration finally struck during my latest stash-sorting-expedition!
I snagged a few coordinating buttons & a 2m long piece of leftover bedsheet fabric that had been dyed black.
I removed the faux pocket hankie, replaced the missing buttons and stitched the bottom of the front of the vest together from the last button down to the hem.
Then evened up the raw edge of the bedsheet fabric and stitched the ends together to form a long tube.
Pinned the tube in pleats to the bottom of the vest with the raw edge of the fabric facing the inside of the vest.
And stitched them together!
et voila! A rockin’ drop waist dress!
