My Upcycled Vintage Medical Bag Planter

Sooooo, my online thrifting karma was with me once again and I managed to snag this 1940’s medical bag for only €1!

Unfortunately the “mint condition” description for this vintage beauty was once again less than honest:

Fortunately the upcycling DIY Diva in me took over and came up with a brilliantly simple use for this squeaking, rusty and stained but oh-so-cool piece of medical history:

A most excellently quirky planter!

Here’s what I did:

I grabbed 2 lovely but lonely plants from the living room

popped them into the bag,

found a groovy home for my funky new planter in my studio,

and finished off the display with some awesome munchkin art, my thrifted drawing form and groovy sewing machine gear embellished frame!

It’s so frustrating when the descriptions are not honest. You did an excellent job with it though – it really works!

    1. It’s definitely a cool conversation piece!
