The easy diy t-shirt bodysuit

After the rousing success of my refashioned blouse bodysuit I thought I’d have a go at creating a comfy & casual all-in-one version from a t-shirt:

Victorious awesomeness!

Here’s how to quickly make your own:

Grab a t-shirt that sits below your hips (or even past your bottom), a pair of comfy undies & some snaps.

My t-shirt had annoying puffed sleeves so I chopped them off & also replaced the printed on label with a bit of pretty lace.

Center your undies on the t-shirt with the crotch lined up at the hem and use them as a guide to chop out the curve of the soon-to-be leg openings.

Try on the t-shirt & check the fit. If the front & back gusset area easily meet in the middle then add your snaps to each side. If not then simply unpick the hem to lengthen it…

or cut a piece of fabric from your scraps & sew together!

Stitch on the snaps.

Hem up the raw edges if desired. As t-shirt jersey doesn’t fray you can easily leave the edges raw for a deconstructed look or give them a bit of a stretch so they curl up to create a cleaner looking edge.

et voila!

Enjoy your groovy new bodysuit that never comes untucked!
