Hooray! The grey Berlin skies have finally brightened up enough to let me photograph & share my fancy new digs! In the 5 short months since moving in we’ve managed to transform this hideously painted, dark & dreary, badly cared for & downright filthy little house into a bright, cheerful and welcoming home!
Let’s begin my lovely little house tour series with the front foyer & guest bathroom:
The front foyer is tiny yet functional & was just one of the many unfortunate colours the previous renters chose to decorate with. A few coats of brilliant white paint, a good scrubbing + our thrifted refurbished furniture & DIY’d decor made a massive difference to that once gloomy entryway!
Shoe storage bench & pillow (thrifted & handmade) – Coathooks (thrifted & painted) – Fabulous Family Art (Swap Score) – Marvelous Mirror (Flea Market) – Old Sideboard (stained & replaced knobs) – Bamboo Storage Baskets (an upcycled DIY)
…and I’m rather proud of my silly finger-crochet-covered-brick doorstop!
Which leads us to the door straight ahead & the guest bathroom:
Those scuzzy (& moldy!) wooden furnishings were replaced with our second hand & inherited gear. As this tiny bathroom is windowless & gets zero natural light, bright white decor is a must!
Vintage Kimono Fabric Wall Hanging (an upcycled DIY) – Towel Storage Basket (inherited & repurposed) – Mini Shelf with Basket Storage (inherited & refurbished) – Vanity & Under Sink Cupboard (second hand & repaired)
An old shelf & a couple of thrifted vases were spruced up with a few coats of spray paint and look fantastic paired with vintage decor finds + some cheery faux blooms.
My €2 valet stand fits perfectly in the small space between the shower & the wall and makes a fab towel rack – a thrifty score from 2013 that has finally found its useful place!
