A quick upcycled bag strap fix

Santa left me an almost perfect prezzie under the tree…

a butter soft vintage handbag large enough to tote my necessities about!

Unfortunately it was missing the shoulder strap…

Fortunately this DIY diva came up with lickety split solution:

I like to wear my bags hands-free messenger style so a long, adjustable strap was a must!

Here’s what I did for a quick upcycled bag strap fix:

I headed to the charity shop & scored a bag with the type of adjustable strap I wanted (for only €1) and grabbed a couple of chopped lanyard clips from my stash.

I carefully detached the strap from the bag using this rivet removal method.

Looped the strap around the ends of the lanyard clips & hand stitched the open edges close.

Popped in some glue for extra strength.

Once dry, I clipped my fancy new strap to the bag and headed out:

Hooray! No hands!

(if you’re digging my ginham coat dress take a peek at how I refashioned it right here)
