Kawaii!
January 12, 2013After 6 groovy years living in Tokyo I have quite a fondness for all things Japanese. As luck would have it, my thrifty-mojo kicked into high gear & sent me the fabulous Heather of the lovely Leopardstripes Designs with an opportunity to trade a copy of my book for some vintage kimono remnants:
seriously stunning!
…my brain is now bursting with refashioning-ideas & after carefully examining each gorgeous scrap I decided to begin with the delicate hand painted one in the center above…
and pressed & framed it (a very easy diy for the scraps that are just too dainty & elegant to cut & stitch)
…and immediately added it to our bedroom wall collage
fair Heather even included some stiff obi fabrics – which are absolutely perfect for creating beautious little bags, funking up denim jacket(s) and adding eye-catching embellishments to just about anything!
Not only did I score some incredibly inspiring kimono silks but Heather also included one of her amazing handmade necklaces…in exactly my taste & style…I absolutely lurv it!
…and her lovely letter was written on handmade, bubble painted paper…adorable!
Vielen Lieben Dank Heather! (along with a ginormous Canadian squeeze & sloppy German kiss!)
