T.M.I…the saga continues…
July 22, 2012First there was the peek into my bag…next came the non-stop-thrill-ride of my nightstand …and now the amazement continues with:

Alas, my 45-year-old-inherited-from-Great-Aunt-Inge machine finally gave its last stitch and went to that big textile factory in the clouds. This is my fancy schmancy new sewing machine – only 23 years old! The hubs spied it in a charity shop window & got it for a mere €15! Awesome!
It sews like a dream & came with all of the original schnickyschnacky plus a load of extra bits n’ bobs…I haven’t a clue what most of it is used for but it all fits nicely in the secret drawer at the back of the machine so maybe one day I’ll find the purpose for the metal jabbers, pokey things & the thingy that screws into the other thingy…
…these are the only attachments I actually employ. Surely the easiest but hey, I’ve only been sewing for year and a half so I’m pretty proud to have mastered these three little metal whatchamacallits…

I’m here to help…

so they have necchis in germany, too! i think the “seriously wtf” item is the thing that screws onto the machine to the right of the needle to help guide fabric in so you don’t have to just do it by eye using the lines on the plate.
Is Necchi a cheap Italian brand? and here I thought I had a cream of the crop machine…not =O)
I suppose I could slog through the crazily long winded German instruction manual & find the uses of all the thingies but it’s way more fun to guess & make up new & exciting names for all of the screw-y jabbies
*I’ll give the “seriously wtf” a try next time I need to stitch a proper straight line =O)
oh no, not to worry! necchi is the most well-known italian brand. i just find it funny that perfectionist germans would consider buying a machine from decidedly non-perfectionist italy. yeah, give “seriously wtf” a go. it’s super good for doing hems with the double needle, or at least that’s what i tend to use it most for.
