I am not a make-up queen but I usually don’t leave the house without slapping on the basics - concealer, powder, mascara & a bit o’ lipgloss. When it comes to cosmetics I firmly believe that less is more & reasonably priced (erm…cheap) doesn’t have to mean crappy quality. After reading about the bargain yet brilliant e.l.f cosmetics on the groovilicious Hot Ink I knew I had to try them out for myself. Luckily the company has made it over to Europe & even has an online shop for Germany. I ordered on a Friday & had my fancy new facepaint on Monday! *deliveries are fantastically fast in Germany
Our little one is outgrowing her clothes at an alarming rate & as the weather is cooling off I’ve been attempting to refashion some of her too small threads into funky fall finery…
As I edge ever closer to the big 4-0 previously dormant parts of my brain begin to think that all of the anti-aging ads I see just may not be as full of sh*t as I once thought. Such was my mind one fateful afternoon as I popped out to the shop to buy diapers for our little Hosenpuper….this was eye-catchingly on sale:
…naturally the evilterrifiedofwrinkles part of my brain took over, grabbed a tube & snuck it in with my other purchases…. Read the rest of this entry ?
It was my birthday a couple of days ago & among my wonderfully lavish gifts was a much needed MP3 player. Now I can run off my just-had-a-baby-blubber while grooving to classics by Depeche Mode, The GoGo’s, The Ramones, Billy Idol, The Sex Pistols, The Cult & oh so many more!
The player is awesomely small, plays fantastically & is easy to handle BUT the schween who designed it didn’t add a clip – or anything else – to attach it to yourself while working out…humph! I picked out a funky scrap and in no time at all had created my own…
Yay! My über-cool cousin (& her awesome daughter) are coming all the way to Berlin for a visit! In preparation for re-living our childhood with giggly-up-all-night-girly time I’ve been hunting for easy to make & fun to eat finger foods. I discovered this little gem and immediately strolled to kitchen and gave it a whirl. Naturally, I had to add a bit of my own imagination to the mix…
1 packet of yeast, 1 1/3 cups warm water, 2 tablespoons oil, 2 teaspoons salt, 3 1/2 cups flour, 1/4 cup butter (or margarine), parsley flakes, minced garlic, basil, paprika, finely chopped onions, cheese
As we’re still in buying-diapers-in-bulk-time and I still think it’s a shame to waste the sturdiness of the boxes I’ve come up with (another) useful idea to upcycle them into….dandy drawers!
Our little cherub had a plain, boring shelf in her room that stood empty as it was a magnet for dog hair…now all of her burp cloths & extra blankies are neatly put away & safe from fido-fluff! Read the rest of this entry ?

As the weather is definitely cooling off in Berlin it’s time to start preparing for our Kleiner Hosenpuper’s first fall & winter chill. As she’s not yet a fan of quilts & blankets and for some reason the only sleep sacks available here are sleeveless I was determined to make a warm & cosy version with full arm coverage – or go insane trying! Luckily, inspiration soon struck & I was sifting through my stash for the ingredients!
It turned out a bit larger than I planned but she’ll grow into it soon enough! Here’s how to make your own with stuff I’m sure you already have around the house! Read the rest of this entry ?
