e.l.f Cosmetics…more than a cute name?

I am not a make-up queen but I usually don’t leave the house without slapping on the basics -  concealer, powder, mascara & a bit o’ lipgloss. When it comes to cosmetics I firmly believe that less is more & reasonably priced (erm…cheap) doesn’t have to mean crappy quality. After reading about the bargain yet brilliant e.l.f cosmetics on the groovilicious Hot Ink I knew I had to try them out for myself. Luckily the company has made it over to Europe & even has an online shop for Germany. I ordered on a Friday & had my fancy new facepaint on Monday! *deliveries are fantastically fast in Germany

My purchases arrived safely packaged and included a sweet treat – which my husband promptly commandeered as his own.

The cost of the 11 products I ordered, including delivery, was €23.41 – pretty awesome but were they worth even that? Let’s find out…

UltraLift or UltraWasteofmoney?

As I edge ever closer to the big 4-0 previously dormant parts of my brain begin to think that all of the anti-aging ads I see just may not be as full of sh*t as I once thought. Such was my mind one fateful afternoon as I popped out to the shop to buy diapers for our little Hosenpuper….this was eye-catchingly on sale:

…naturally the evilterrifiedofwrinkles part of my brain took over, grabbed a tube & snuck it in with my other purchases…. Continue reading

Scrumptious Pull-Apart Bread

Yay! My über-cool cousin (& her awesome daughter) are coming all the way to Berlin for a visit! In preparation for re-living our childhood with giggly-up-all-night-girly time I’ve been hunting for easy to make & fun to eat finger foods. I discovered this little gem and immediately strolled to kitchen and gave it a whirl. Naturally, I had to add a bit of my own imagination to the mix…

1 packet of yeast, 1 1/3 cups warm water, 2 tablespoons oil, 2 teaspoons salt, 3 1/2 cups flour, 1/4 cup butter (or margarine), parsley flakes, minced garlic, basil, paprika, finely chopped onions, cheese

another diaper box triumph…

As we’re still in buying-diapers-in-bulk-time and I still think it’s a shame to waste the sturdiness of the boxes I’ve come up with (another) useful idea to upcycle them into….dandy drawers!

Our little cherub had a plain, boring shelf in her room that stood empty as it was a magnet for dog hair…now all of her burp cloths & extra blankies are neatly put away & safe from fido-fluff! Continue reading

Snug as a Bug Sleep Sack

As the weather is definitely cooling off in Berlin it’s time to start preparing for our Kleiner Hosenpuper’s first fall & winter chill. As she’s not yet a fan of quilts & blankets and for some reason the only sleep sacks available here are sleeveless I was determined to make a warm & cosy version with full arm coverage – or go insane trying! Luckily, inspiration soon struck & I was sifting through my stash for the ingredients!

It turned out a bit larger than I planned but she’ll grow into it soon enough! Here’s how to make your own with stuff I’m sure you already have around the house! Continue reading

Looks like …..?

Yesterday I had a wisdom tooth pulled…not as painful as I thought it would be but I still can’t eat anything crunchier than soup broth, pudding & yoghurt. As I’m in no mood to cook just for my hubby he went to the Metzger (deli) and got himself some Wuerstchen & Kartoffelsalat. Imagine our deviant delight when he opened the bag of Wuerstchen (sausages) & pulled out this beauty:

A W E S O M E!

From nearly every angle it looks just like….
